This specialised treatment uses Electrocautery to zap excess skin tissue for a polished skin texture without the use of invasive lasers. Procedure

DOUBLE CLEANSING
Begins with double cleansing to free the skin of impurities and build-up from the day.

EXFOLIATION
Soften dead skin cells, pumps nutrients and vitamins while stimulating micro-circulation as you massage your skin leaving your skin instantly revitalised.

IDENTIFY TREATMENT AREA
Making sure that the treatment is suitable and can be carried out to remove unwanted lesions.

NUMBING CREAM APPLICATION
Numbing cream is applied on the treatment area and left for 30 minutes to minimise any discomfort or pain during the procedure.

CAUTERIZATION
After numbing cream is removed, the cauterization will be done by trained therapists.

GEL MASK + LED LIGHT THERAPY
A blend of Porcelain skincare products is infused into the skin, combined with LED Light Therapy to restore the skin’s barrier function and boost cell repair mechanisms.

AFTERCARE (post-treatment)
Avoid applying makeup, rubbing the wound and picking scabs.
Try to stay indoors more and apply Deep Recovery Gel or Botanical Soothing Gel
Avoid cigarettes, exercise and swimming until the wound is healed.

Treatment Highlight

Cauterization, or cautery, is a technique using short pulses of electricity to remove excess skin tissue (like skin tags, milia seeds and sebaceous hyperplasia) on the skin surface. This is best done under a controlled environment in the hands of trained aestheticians. Within 60 minutes, you can achieve a smoother looking skin.

How to identify if you have any of these skin issues?

Skin Tag:
- Occurs when extra cells grow in the top layers of the skin and are connected to the skin by a small thin stalk.
- They feel soft and can be smooth and round, wrinkly and uneven or look like a grain of rice.
- Dark or flesh-coloured.

Milia Seed:
- Small, white bumps on the skin that usually appear under the eyes, forehead and lips.
- They do not contain pus. Instead, the pore is clogged by keratin (similar to your nails and hair).
- Usually occur due to the usage of thick eye creams or skincare products that are not appropriate for the skin.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia:
- Occurs when the sebaceous gland becomes enlarged with trapped sebum, creating a shiny bump.
- Yellowish or flesh-coloured bumps that are usually around the forehead and nose.

What is the recovery period for this treatment?

There is usually some redness or slight scabbing that occurs in the treated areas which will heal completely within 5-7 days.

Does skin cautery hurt?

Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. A local anesthetic or numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area to reduce any pain or discomfort.

Can this treatment reduce hyper-pigmentation?

No. This procedure is not recommended as a treatment to remove hyper-pigmentation as they have different causes and hyperpigmentation occurs on a flat surface of the skin. Cautery over these areas may cause them to be darker instead.

How many sessions do I need to remove the milia seed/skin tag? Will they regrow?

The number of sessions required can vary based on the extent of the condition and the number of milia seeds or skin tags to be removed. Some people may need only one session, while others might require multiple sessions.

In most cases, properly removed milia and skin tags are unlikely to grow back. However, new growths can still develop over time due to genetics, skin conditions, or other factors.

What should I take note of on my first appointment with Porcelain?

For first-time clients, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. You will be required to complete a medical indemnity form.

For subsequent visits, please try to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment. Your prompt arrival will help us ensure all clients receive full and quality service in a timely manner.

In an event of a late arrival, Porcelain reserve the right to reduce the duration of the treatment accordingly or end the session on the scheduled time. Do note that full payment of the entire treatment will still be chargeable to the client.

Your appointment will be cancelled with a lateness of more than 30 minutes.

Yes, we incorporate Porcelain products for our treatments.
