Cleansing milks are rich, creamy emulsions designed to leave dry skin hydrated and soft even after cleansing. On the other hand, gels are lighter formulations that excel at removing impurities while leaving skin feeling fresh and clear.

Most people can cleanse their face once in the morning and once at night, for 60 seconds each time. Those with dry or sensitive skin may consider doing only the nightly cleansing, washing the skin with only water in the morning. It’s also recommended to tone, moisturise, and hydrate your skin properly after cleansing.

A pea-sized amount of facial cleanser is often enough. If removing heavy makeup or using a cleansing milk, you may need slightly more.

Double cleansing is a skincare method of cleaning your face with two different cleansers for more thorough cleansing.
